Overview

Accurate and early pregnancy detection is the core of modern ruminant herd reproductive management. Timely pregnancy testing for cattle, sheep, goats and other ruminants enables veterinarians and farm managers to quickly identify non-pregnant livestock, arrange re-breeding in a timely manner, effectively shorten calving/lambing intervals, and significantly improve herd reproduction efficiency, farm productivity and overall breeding profitability.

This high-precision ruminant pregnancy test kit adopts double-antibody sandwich method and colloidal gold chromatography technology, delivering fast, stable and intuitive detection results. It supports early pregnancy screening for dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep and goats with clear applicable detection timelines. It is an essential portable detection tool for large-scale pastures, breeding farms and veterinary institutions.

Key Advantages & Applicable Scenarios

Early Detection: Detects cow pregnancy at 28 days post-breeding, applicable for cows over 60 days postpartum; detects goat pregnancy at 28 days post-breeding and sheep pregnancy at 35 days post-breeding, realizing early intervention in herd breeding management.

Multi-Sample Compatibility: Compatible with EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood, serum and plasma samples, meeting different on-site sampling and laboratory testing needs.

Professional & Reliable: Mature colloidal gold immunochromatography technology ensures high detection accuracy, with stable test performance and low error rate.

Fast & Easy Operation: No complex professional equipment required, intuitive result judgment, suitable for on-site rapid detection in pastures and rapid screening in veterinary laboratories.

Detection Principle

This product relies on the double-antibody sandwich colloidal gold chromatography principle for ruminant pregnancy biomarker detection. After the processed sample is added to the test card, the specific analyte in the sample binds to the colloidal gold-labeled specific antibody to form an antigen-antibody complex.

Under chromatographic migration, the complex is captured by the fixed antibody on the test line (T line), forming a visible red band. The color depth of the T line is positively correlated with the content of pregnancy analyte in the sample. If the sample contains no pregnancy-specific analyte, no red band will appear on the T line.

The control line (C line) serves as the test validity standard. A clear red band on the C line must appear in all valid tests; otherwise, the test result is invalid and needs to be retested.

Test Preparation & Sample Storage Requirements

General Pre-Test Notice

Read the full instruction manual carefully before testing. All test samples and test cards need to be balanced at a temperature of 15°C - 35°C (59°F - 95°F) before operation, and the entire test process must be completed at room temperature to ensure accurate results.

Sample Collection & Preservation

EDTA Anticoagulated Whole Blood

Collect livestock blood into EDTA anticoagulant tubes, and invert the tube slowly for 10 times immediately after collection to fully mix the blood and anticoagulant. For short-term storage, whole blood samples can be stored at 2°C - 8°C (36°F - 46°F) for up to 48 hours. Freezing or partial freezing of whole blood is prohibited to avoid sample failure and inaccurate test results.

Serum / Plasma

After blood collection, obtain serum or plasma via centrifugation: centrifuge the blood sample at 2000~3000 rpm/min for 5~15 minutes. Alternatively, place the whole blood upright and stand until natural stratification and serum separation. Serum and plasma samples can be stored at 2°C - 8°C (36°F - 46°F) for up to 7 days for short-term use.

Standard Test Procedure

Follow the standardized steps below for accurate detection:

Tear open the aluminum foil pouch along the preset notch and take out the test card.

Place the test card on a clean, flat and horizontal surface. Keep the test card horizontal throughout the test to prevent liquid migration deviation. Mark the sample ID or paste the identification label on the test card for record tracking. Use the matching pipette to drop 2 drops (approximately 50µL) of whole blood, serum or plasma sample into the sample well of the test card.

Add 2 drops (approximately 50µL) of sample diluent to the same sample well. Start timing immediately for 20 minutes.

Observe the test result within the timed period: If both T line and C line appear within 20 minutes, the result is positive (pregnant), and the test is completed. If no bands appear, extend the observation time by 5-10 minutes. All results observed after 50 minutes are invalid.
